r.a.s.c.i.  course objectives

 

The course objectives are; 

1. For every attending delegate to understand the core concepts of ultrasound guidance of blindly inserted needles onto human peripheral nerves.

2. For every delegate to understand and to have practiced the complex tasks of simultaneously handling an ultrasound transducer, and a stimulating nerve block needle while looking at the nerve and needle on a 2-D sonogram.

3. To know the relevant peripheral neuroanatomy, and the 3D relationships of the nerves with other surrounding structures.   

4. To be able to perform the taught procedures safely and appropriately.

5. To extend the availability of regional anesthesia benefits to more patients.

6. To improve the safety, the effectiveness and the reliability of regional anesthesia to all patients.

 

 

The course is a focused technique skills course and the delegate needs to see this course as supplementary to standard full medical and anesthesia training.
